Can I get an OEM version
of the multi gas sensor?

Infrared multigas sensors are based on non-dispersive infrared spectroscopy (NDIR).

Multi Gas OEM Platform - up to eight IR-active Gases

The gas is irradiated with infrared light and detected at a specific wavelength depending on the type of gas to be analyzed. When the light passes through the sample chamber, the absorption of the light is measured and provides information about the concentration of the gas in the sample chamber. As no chemical reaction takes place, m-u-t NDIR multigas sensors have a high durability and long-term stability. Measurement of up to eight gases (corresponding to eight NDIR channels) in a single sensor reduces the number of required single sensors. With a single multigas analyzer it is also possible to directly compensate any cross sensitivities between the measured gases. Depending on the requirements, up to eight different NDIR active gases can be implemented with optical NDIR measurement.

For the measurement of carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), ethine (C2H2), ethene (C2H4), ethane (C2H6), propane (C3H8), butane (C4H10) or gas humidity (water, H2O), there are field-proven sensor versions available, which are optimized for different gas combinations, measuring ranges, detection limits and compensation of cross-sensitivities. Other gases can also be measured with the NDIR method. Thus, most organic substances from the substance groups alcohols, ketones, aldehydes, ethers, amines, nitriles, terpenes or thiols can generally be detected with the optical NDIR method. The measurement accuracy depends on the respective gas combination and the measurement ranges. It can be optimized for the respective application by an appropriate calibration.

Up to six additional sensors

In addition to the eight optical NDIR channels, up to six further sensors can be integrated in the sample chamber. It is irrelevant whether these are electrochemical sensors or sensors for the measurement of physical parameters. m-u-t assesses your preferred sensor for integrability. For hydrogen (H2), oxygen (O2), temperature (t), relative humidity (RH) and pressure (p), modules are already available. Furthermore, m-u-t offers sensors that measure pressure (p), temperature (t) and acceleration (position, a) outside the sample chamber.

Integration into the Process

Various mechanical concepts are already in use to integrate sensors into processes. Basically, we differentiate between the flange connection and piping or tubing. For direct process connection, the sensor is integrated into the system using a flange. In this case, the measured gas is transported into the sensor by diffusion or flow in the process. Alternatively, connections for piping or tubing can be used, through which the measured process gas enters the sensor through a pressure gradient or an external pump. Corresponding adaptations can be implemented depending on the target application.
