The TRISTAN® NIR combines the latest sensor technology and specialized optical design with the convenience of off-the-shelf availability. The newest generation of InGaAs line detectors provide performance values that were unthinkable even 12 months ago. With this improvement, the stage was set for m·u·t to develop an assembly-line product that enables the user to obtain top quality results without an elaborate setup procedure.
Key features: - High resolution InGaAs-detector
- Turn-key configurations

Cooled Detectors: The InGaAs detectors are actively cooled and temperature controlled, in order to provide optimum results. The temperature of the detector is stored for each individual measurement for control purposes.
Turn Key Device Configuration The TRISTAN-NIR is available in two configurations: The NIR-HR covers the spectral range from 900 nm to 1700 nm with a 5 nm resolution. The exNIR covers the spectral range from 1000 nm to 2200 nm; this large wavelength range can be resolved to 15 nm.
Minimal Noise: Infrared detectors show a sharp increase in noise with an increase in exposure time. With short exposure times, the measured signal becomes so weak that there is less signal in the signal-to-noise ratio. m·u·t meets this challenge by using multiple short exposure times, the average of which is nearly free from noise. In this way, with exposure times starting at 15 µs, 500-1000 exposure cycles can be executed in one second. Following USP Standard 1119, the results in this exposure mode yield a dark noise of only 0.3%.
Automatic Calibration: Each spectrometer is individually calibrated before it leaves our facility. The calibration data is stored in the equipment and is referenced automatically by the software for amplitude correction. As a result, the TRISTAN-NIR is capable of delivering results that are free from device influences.
Professional Software Environment: The spectroscopy software package, TRIWin 3.0 PRO, is bundled with the purchase of every TRISTAN-NIR spectrometer. The intuitive Graphical User Interface serves to operate the spectrometer and also provides an unrivaled array of features. Apart from performing transmission, absorption, and reflection measurements, TRIWin 3.0 PRO allows the user to perform concentration measurements without any additional software. Advanced mathematics modules with statistical functions and 3-D representations provide further options for the analysis of measurements. Although separate laboratory software is not necessary, TRIWin 3.0 includes interfaces for a number of familiar software packages already on the market. m·u·t also offers an additional chemistry software bundle for qualitative and quantitative analysis.
