The TRISTAN® 5 is a compact and totally self-contained spectrometer with integrated display. It is controlled via a 256 color touch-screen display with a user interface similar to Windows or a PDA. Spectroscopy has never been so mobile and easy-to-handle before.
With TRISTAN® 5 no PC is required. It is ideally suited for spectral analysis in the field. Measurement results are displayed right away. |

TRISTAN® 5 can work independently from a power supply for about four hours with the integrated battery pack.
The TRISTAN® 5 comes with an integrated controller board based on a 32 bit RISC processor. It handles the measurement results directly on-board, stores them and transfers them to the PC. Post processing of measured data and storage of up to 100 spectra is done directly on the spectrometer. |

The onboard intelligence in TRISTAN® 5 is designed to control all parameters in the spectrometer and to transmit ready-to-use data to the PC interface. These are the most important onboard functions: - Add cycles: Minimizing the noise by multiple measurements (up to 100) and calculating the average values.
- Dynamic extension: extending the dynamic range for 128 times by up to seven separate exposure times for different areas of the measured spectral range.
- Automatic exposure timing: Makes spectral measurement as easy as taking a holiday snapshot! Manual control is available too.
- Automatic amplitude correction: Erasing the detectors characteristic from the measurement results give you the free view on the spectral response from your application.
- Dark current compensation: Eliminating the influence of exposure time and detector temperature fully automatically from the measuring results.
- Noise suppression: Adjustable noise filters help to reduce the noise without covering the signal.
All the control functions and mathematical operations that can be done on the touch screen display of the spectrometer can also be done on the PC with the help of the included software package TRIWin. |

The TRISTAN® 5 is equipped with a back thinned CCD array 2048x14 pixel. It is available in four pre-configured spectral ranges from 200nm up to 1100nm and can be customized to your requirements very easily. All of them come in a heavy-duty transport box.
