To couple the light from free air into the fiber, the light has to be focused by collimators in order to optimize the intensity of light passing through the fiber. When diffuse light needs to be collected on the entrance of an optical fiber, a cosine corrector has to be used. This device collects light at an angle of 180°.
Collimator lens
Collimator lenses are required to focus a light beam into the entrance of a fiber optic cable. The collimator can easily be connected with the fiber cable via the integrated SMA 905 compatible thread. These collimators are pre-installed in m·u·t’s cuvette holders and sample holders and can also be ordered separately. |

Cosine corrector
A cosine corrector collects light at the end of a fiber optic in an angle of 180°. The intensity of the radiation will be normalized without any influence on the entrance angle. Cosine correctors are used for measurements of natural radiation, lights at workplaces, UV-A and UV-B measurements of solar light and to evaluate light sources. |
