For reflection and irradiance measurement diffusing the light is the key to correct and reliable results. The integrating sphere is a hollow sphere with a highly diffuse reflective surface. It has openings for incident light, the detector and the measuring object, which can be a reflective or absorbing material or an emitter.
Irradiance measurement
The SPH IRR-12.5 is optimized for irradiance measurement. It has one SMA port at 90° for the connection of the spectrometer. The opening for the sample is at the bottom of the integrating sphere.
Irradiance + reflection measurement
The SPH-REFL-30 is suitable for both irradiance and reflection. It is equipped with a second SMA connector at 8° for reflection measurement.
Irradiance + reflection measurement with gloss trap
The SPH-REFL-50 is additionally equipped with a gloss trap. The gloss trap is visible as a hole in the reflecting surface of the sphere. The light directly reflected by the surface of the sample can be eliminated here in order to raise the measurement setups sensitivity for the light emitted by the probe at other angles.
