Heat could harm the probe. Additionally noise and saturation in the spectrometer needs to be avoided. Therefore, the light should be reduced to the range that is required for the analysis. Filters are equipment-of-choice for this task. The m·u·t filter holder has a female SMA connector on one side and a collimator with male SMA connector on the other end. It can easily be coupled into the optical setup at the end of any fiber cable (e.g. between a TRISTAN® spectrometer and the fiber). It can hold standard filters with a diameter of 0.5" and a thickness of 1 to 6 mm.
ND filters are used to reduce the intensity of light to avoid saturation on the sensor element. With a diameter of 0.5", the ND filters are ideally suited for our filter holder. m·u·t offers six different ND filters with different transmission rates.
