Flexibility: the key feature. Our modular design allows the HCTS2000 to be configured so it is truly tailored to your particular needs. The following three modules are examples of how the HCTS2000's usefulness can be enhanced. Developing a new option for your unique application is not a problem - it is the reason why the HCTS2000 exists.
In many laboratories, the color of the cap indicates the material inside the tube while the barcode contains only the patient ID. Both criteria are necessary for defining the right target during the sorting process.
The cap color module can be used with the HCTS2000 MK2 and MK3 to increase sorting efficiency. The information is also transmitted to the LIS for storage or other analysis. As shown in the drawings, the HCTS2000 first reads the barcode, then detects the tube orientation (which side the cap is on) and finally measures the color of the cap. With the cap color module, 5 target bins are available with the HCTS2000 MK2. All other MK2 and MK3 specifications remain the same.
The special m-u-t design makes this feature small and cost-efficient. It allows you to include the tube type in the sorting criteria, just like the barcode or cap color.
A special profile scanner scans the entire length of the tube. The data is first used to determine which side the cap is on. Then, complex algorithms are applied to determine the type of tube. Up to 5 different types of tubes can be detected.
Images of each tube can be taken with this unique module, both for documentation and evidence purposes. The image of the sample tube can be stored in a separate database or in the LIS.
