Donations instead of gifts

Wedel, Nov 30, 2011- "Each child in Wedel is to receive a balanced lunch on a regular basis. After all, this is the only way for a child to learn properly and not be disadvantaged from the very beginning," says Sabine Lüchau, President of the Wedel City Council and patron of "Wedel für Kinder" (Wedel for Children)

Because of that, m-u-t forgoes Christmas gifts for customers for the very first time. Instead, management board member Holger Hönck donated 4000 euros to the initiative "Wedel für Kinder" of Kinderschutzbund (Child Protection League) on behalf of the company. This makes it possible to let 6 children in need eat lunch in daycare facilities and schools for an entire year.

Silver medal for m-u-t at the world's largest agricultural trade fair AGRITECHNICA

Hanover, Nov 13, 2011 - DLG has awarded a silver medal to m-u-t AG in recognition of its innovative technology for the determination of the contents during the harvest with forage harvesters. The ceremony took place during the world's largest agricultural trade fair AGRITECHNICA 2011 in Hanover.

The analytic system developed on behalf of the agricultural machinery manufacturer CLAAS uses near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) to continuously measure moisture and contents of the harvested crop, e.g. sugar, starch and protein, during the harvest. In that context, the optical measurement is taken, spectrally analyzed and evaluated directly at the forage harvester. Contrary to random sample analyses in the laboratory that have been common so far, the system logs the entire harvest and provides high-precision measuring results immediately after the harvest. Forage harvesters are used for harvesting grass and corn. Today, these plants have established themselves as commodity for cattle farms and biogas plants. The established invoicing criteria by yield and dry weight are insufficient for quality-oriented payment. Information for trade in accordance with quality and notes for production technology result from the detailed analyses of the NIRS measurement only. It is also possible to improve and optimize the silage and fermentation processes.
