Application Areas for Early Fire Detection and Fire Prevention using LWIR Thermography

An outstanding feature of LWIR systems is that they are extremely well suited for a wide range of applications and fire classes. Conventional detectors monitor the consequences of a fire, such as gases, flames or smoke, which can vary greatly depending on the fire class. Therefore, conventional detectors have to be precisely designed and configured for the type of fire to be expected. In contrast, LWIR monitoring systems monitor the cause of a fire, abnormal heat buildup, which makes them universally applicable and independent of the type of overheating that would be expected. ARTUS systems can also be used to monitor other temperature-sensitive processes, such as cooling systems.

Potential areas of application include:

     Gas tanks, etc.
     Gas flares
     Gas leaks
     Industrial Facilities
     Linter storage
     Ship loaders
     Coal dumps
     Cooling Tower
     Tank farms
     Shredders: cars, waste
RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) silos / storage facilities
     Lubricants
     Woodyards
     Paper storage facilities
     Tire depots
     Residual Waste Incineraton Plants
     Overheating of engines
     Smoldering electrical fires
     Wind power plants
     Warehouses
     Shipping and transport containers
     Conveyor belts
     Transformer houses
     Recycling
     Underground storage facilities
